ECO stands for Energy Company Obligation. It is a government energy efficiency scheme aimed to help reduce carbon emissions and also tackle Fuel Poverty in the United Kingdom. Under this scheme there are various grants available to help people fund energy efficiency measures such as:
Gas Central Heating Systems
Air Source Heat Pumps
High Heat Retention Storage Heaters
Solar PV
Loft Insulation
Solid Wall Insulation
Cavity Wall Insulation
Room in the Roof Insulation
In order to qualify for the ECO grant you need to either be in receipt of a qualifying benefit or meet the criteria for your local council (LA FLEX). Find out below to see how you would qualify.
To qualify you must either be an owner-occupier or a private tenant. There are four ways you may qualify depending on your local councils chosen criteria. But don't worry, we can clarify that for you. Please see below, to read through the options:
Households that hold an EPC rating of either E,F or G with an income less than £31,000 after tax. This cap applies irrespective of the property size, composition, or region.
EPC rating D-Ghouseholds that have been identified by their doctor or GP as low-income and vulnerable, with an occupant whose health conditions may be impacted further by living in a cold home. These health conditions may be cardiovascular, respiratory, immuno-suppressed, or limited mobility related.
